#12 - Christmas in New England, Enhanced

Written as a Christmas card
for my mother.

Christmas In New England

I have special memories
Of Christmas long ago
Christmas in New England
With gifts and lots of snow
A mom who worked so very hard
To give her kids the best
It took three jobs to do it
And little time to rest
But it paid off with dividends
And posterity through the years
As children grown reflect with love
The merriest time of year

Enhanced

A season of magic and special delight
The cold snowy days and blustery nights
A picturesque wonderland, the town where I grew
Now fond recollections of memories true
My love of the season was greatly enhanced
When the knowledge of Jesus usurped happenstance
When fable and whimsy took a backseat
To the love of the Father and His gift so sweet
A babe in a manger, man yet divine
The reason - a Savior - that grace we would find
