#24 - Windows of Your Soul

Windows Of Your Soul

May the windows of your soul
Be open to the good news of Christ,
That you would be blessed
With the riches and fullness of the Lord.

Have a joyful Christmas!

#23 - The Exchange

The immaculate, amazing, miraculous birth
Of Jesus , the Saviour, has given us worth
As we become heirs to a Kingly throne
By exchanging the filthy rags of our own
For Jesus’ robe of righteousness
That He and God alone possess

Through Him, may your Christmas hold
every hope and every joy of the season!

#22 - A Plan to Save His People

A Plan to Save His People

Our only consolation, as we live three score and ten
Is a Father’s love that sacrificed His one and only son
A plan to save His people, His children o’er the earth
From sin and death as each believes Messiah’s miracle birth
Truly recognizing divinity at hand
Receiving love and purity within the Master’s plan
A Saviour who is Christ the King, JESUS is His name
His kingdom and His Lordship, by faith we freely claim

May Christ live in your heart all year,
And may your joy transcend the season.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

#21 - Message of Hope

If I could give you just one special gift at Christmas,
I’d find a way to cure RSD…but until then:

May Jesus, our Saviour, Redeemer and King
Live in your heart and govern all things
Govern the body that's broken and bound
Govern the heart spreading love all around
That you would discern in the depths of your soul
He longs to be gracious and He'll make you whole
Deep in your being He'll make you content
Just look to and lean on the one that was sent
To pardon our sins and show us the way
And give us new life beginning today
His plan and His purpose, creations of love
To fellowship with Him in glory above

#20 - The Night Before Christmas Nearly

The Night Before Christmas Nearly

‘Twas the night before Christmas nearly
And Jane loved her friends dearly
But all that addressing and envelope stuffing
Left that poor girl a huffing and puffing
She’s tardy for everything
This is sure true
But this year she’s managed
To set records anew
She makes her own cards
Before Halloween
But sometimes the cards
Don’t even get seen
This may be the last year
She bothers at all
It seems so much easier
To make a phone call

#19 - Wise Men Still Seek Him

Wise Men Still Seek Him

Though born in a manger
Christ Jesus was King
And came down to earth
To save us from sin
Though heralded early
His life took a change
When people forsook Him
And denounced His name
But that didn’t matter
‘Cause power divine
Had destined this King
To rule for all time
So wise men still seek Him
And call on His name
The One they once worshipped
We worship the same

#18 - Pursuing Us Still

Pursuing Us Still

Jesus, our Savior, came down to earth
Through the love of the Father and miraculous birth
He chose to descend from His throne up above
In faithful obedience and glorious love
He sacrificed all that we would obtain
Redemption and life at the cost of His pain
It pierces His heart that knowing all this
We still would reject , we still would resist
Still, we continue asserting free will
And Jesus continues pursuing us still

#17 - Just One

Written for a loved one

Just One

For God so loved the world
That He sent His only son
And He told us all along
There would only be the one
Just the one redeeming Savior
Just the one and only road
Just one cross and crucifixion
Bearing sin’s tremendous load
Just the one and only door
Unto the father for us all
Won’t you open up your heart
And receive Him when He calls

#16 - Bon Appetit

Written for a friend

Bon Appetit

T’was the night before Christmas and no-where around
Could the recipe for chocolate chip cookies be found
So Debbie’s friend Jane got out the cookbook
And page after page she took a good look
Searching for something different and tasty
This was important, she couldn’t be hasty
After successfully finding a few
She thought of the internet, looking there too
Finding a menu of holiday fare
She readily thought “That’s what I’ll share”
So Merry Christmas, your gift is within
And bon appetit, meaning “Happy Din-Din”

#15 - The Song of the Season

The Song Of The Season

The song of the season
The song of the ages
The truth that is written
Throughout bible pages
The Savior was sent
To atone and redeem
A gift from the Father
And love was the theme

#14 - Commit to the Lord

Commit To The Lord

While eating our candy canes and opening gifts
It’s easy for thoughts and focus to shift
But deep down we know that Christ is the reason
And we need to be mindful of that every season
But sometimes the hustle and bustle of shopping
The hectic and festive party-hopping
Can tend to distract us from Jesus’ birth
His reason for coming, His wonder and worth
So may we in earnest commit to the Lord
Sincerest devotion to Him and His word

#13 - The Bread of Life

The Bread Of Life

JESUS…

The Bread of Life
The Lamb that was slain
The gift to mankind
The powerful name
The one that we worship
The one we adore
The glorious Savior
Our hearts hunger for

#12 - Christmas in New England, Enhanced

Written as a Christmas card
for my mother.

Christmas In New England

I have special memories
Of Christmas long ago
Christmas in New England
With gifts and lots of snow
A mom who worked so very hard
To give her kids the best
It took three jobs to do it
And little time to rest
But it paid off with dividends
And posterity through the years
As children grown reflect with love
The merriest time of year

Copyright Mary Jane Gonzales

Enhanced

A season of magic and special delight
The cold snowy days and blustery nights
A picturesque wonderland, the town where I grew
Now fond recollections of memories true
My love of the season was greatly enhanced
When the knowledge of Jesus usurped happenstance
When fable and whimsy took a backseat
To the love of the Father and His gift so sweet
A babe in a manger, man yet divine
The reason - a Savior - that grace we would find

#11 - A Christmas Prayer

A Christmas Prayer

God, we come before you
With our Christmas list in hand
We know you dearly love us
And we know you’ve blessings planned
God, our hearts desire
For our loved ones to be well
For peace in our relationships
And all our fears dispelled
God, our hearts desire
That wars come to an end
That you would intervene, Lord
And home you’d send our men
God, our hearts desire
A stronger walk with you
Uncompromised integrity
A witness that is true
A heart that’s pure in giving
In serving and in love
So, Lord, we pray for spiritual gifts
Sent from Heaven above

#10 - Night Before Christmas

Written for my granddaughter
when she was young.

Night Before Christmas

T’was the night before Christmas
And kids everywhere
Were thinking of Santa
And when he’d be there
But one little girl
Named Kallie Lair
Though waiting for presents
Was focused on prayer
‘Cause she knew that Santa
Was only for fun
But Jesus the Savior
Was God’s precious Son

#9 - Life Abundant

Life Abundant

In this joyous Christmas season
May we praise and thank the Lord
That He gave to us the Christ Child
And He gave to us the Word
That He gives us life abundant
If we call upon His name
And in all the seasons of our life
He remains the same

#8 - The Joy of Christmas

Written for a friend.

The Joy Of Christmas

May you know the joy of Christmas
With the glitter and the gifts
May you know the joy of Jesus
As your head and heart He lifts
May your life be yielded to the one
Who came to set us free
And lovingly He gave to us
Life abundantly

#7 - In My Heart

Written for a special loved one.

In My Heart

I have you in my heart
So I always wish you well
But at Christmastime the love of Christ
Is what I want to tell.
He loves us so, He came to earth
To save us from our sin
And if we open up our hearts
He will enter in.
He loves us with a love so great
That nothing can compare.
He takes away our worries
And the burdens that we bear.
He grants us full forgiveness
When we earnestly repent
And leads us to the Father
From whom this love was sent.
May Christmas be the time
When you receive His wondrous grace
As your heart succumbs to Him
And His mercies you embrace.

#6 - Extensions of His Love

This was a Christmas card I made years ago
for my brother to send to his friends.

Extensions of His Love

At Christmastime we think much more
Of what relationships are for
A very special God above
Made friends extensions of his love
So know that we much better fare
In life, because of all your care
And as the season comes around
Please know the joy in you we've found

Wishing you the best of holidays!

#5 - Celebrate the Birth of Christ

Celebrate The Birth Of Christ

Christmas is the time of year
When friends and family gather near
To celebrate the birth of Christ
Our blessed Savior, Shining Light
A time of much festivity
Of laughter, love and gaiety
When time is spent with those we love
Together praising God above
Our countenance is that of joy
While peace and kindness we employ
Even strangers receive smiles
And loved ones travel many miles
Delighting in the holidays
And showing love in extra ways
To all the ones for whom we care
With whom our heart and time we share

Wishing you the best of holidays!

Arms of Love

May His arms of love enfold you
As the season comes around
May His spirit be upon you
As His joy and peace abound
May you share the love of Jesus
With the ones that you hold dear
May He live within your hearts
Continually throughout the year

Wishing you a blessed Christmas!

#3 - Preservationist's Prayer

Not your typical Christmas card, this was written , years ago, as a Christmas card for a fundraiser for the Friends of the Oliver House Preservation Society in Chase, MD.

Preservationist’s Prayer

We hope that in this busy world
You will all take part
In things that have great meaning
The things close to your heart
Like preservation of our land
And of historic sites
Of principles and heritage
For which our people fight
Things we should be passing on
So our descendants see
The values of the past
And know posterity
So as the Christ of long ago
Resides within you still
We pray that you will let your heart
Be subject to His will
Please work with us to help preserve
The things of long ago
The things that made us what we are
The things we cherish so

Warmest Wishes
For A Wonderful Holiday Season!

#2 - A Love That Never Ends

A Love That Never Ends

As you enjoy the season
With family and with friends
I pray that you will have
A love that never ends
A love that supersedes
Materialistic worth
A love that’s unconditional
Arising from Christ’s birth

This year, may you know
the true meaning of Christmas!

#1 - Jesus is the Reason

Christmas is my favorite time of the year; partly because of the merriment and decorations, but mostly because of the gift of Jesus Christ, our Savior. And one of my favorite things of the season is to make my own Christmas cards. Having realized that I have more than 25 cards, I was inspired to have a Christmas blog with a message each day from cards I have made. The messages convey the true meaning of Christmas, apart from a couple that are humorous. Either way, I pray that the SPIRIT AND JOY OF THE LORD will be a blessing to you.

Jesus Is The Reason

As we prepare to welcome in
The blessed Christmas season
Let us all be mindful
That Jesus is the reason
The reason that our joy's complete
The hope of each tomorrow
The sustenance and strength
For any kind of sorrow
The reason that we celebrate
Glad tidings far and wide
'Cause Jesus, the Messiah,
God's love exemplified

BLESSINGS TO YOU & YOURS
THIS CHRISTMAS!
